THE HIVE

Founded in December 2022 by local musician, woodworker and artist Rick Speke, The Hive is a 1300 square foot, multi purpose facility located in Gibsons BC, catering to local musicians, artists and hobbyist craftspeople of the lower Sunshine Coast.  It is somewhere for those folks who don't have access to a place to express their creativity. The Hive has a small 20 x 20 hobby woodcraft shop containing a table saw, drill press, jointer, planer, small edge sander, lathe, and small spray booth for cutting shaping and building wood crafts. available for rent. Next to the wood shop is a 22 x 18 stage area fully equipped with a pa system, drums, a bass amp, and 4 x 12 guitar cabinet for everyone from solo artists to loud rock bands to dance troupes to rent at night. During the day this space can be opened up to make room for local artist to get messy and would like to share their work. The walls can be adorned to display artists work for the public to purchase or just for exposure. In the near future it is in the plan to have The Hive also available for recording music, as well as having a video/mulitmedia editing booth. This has always been a dream of Ricks to have a facility like this, and to share it with a community of like minded artists and musicians; to grow, nurture and support one another.  Bee part of the buzz, reach out and get creative at The Hive, .
